In 2019, two people with different backgrounds came together to create something special..
Lyndon Johnson, a former NHS nurse with experience working in A&E and ITU, who later became a commercial lead in the UK digital health tech sector, and Adam Spinks, a skilled professional in Information Governance with a legal background, joined forces following a chance encounter.
The story of 8foldGovernance began when Lyndon was busy negotiating a deal with the NHS Integrated Care System (ICS) in Surrey that would see patients locally benefit from access and control of their personal health records. It was during this time that he met Adam, a well-regarded IG consultant who was supporting Surrey to ratify the Information Governance arrangements of this deal.
It was here that they realised something important. Information governance and compliance was a barrier to streamlining adoption of health tech in the NHS. And, the problem wasn’t only confined to Surrey, they had experienced similar challenges in other parts of the country over the years. They understood that to make this transformation happen, companies needed help with governance and compliance.
The NHS, quite rightly, had set high standards to make sure patients and clinical services were well-supported. Meeting these standards could be really tough for companies, and it could even make or break them.
Lyndon and Adam talked at length and believed that with the right guidance and support, companies could succeed. They thought about how they could help businesses understand and meet the compliance requirements at every step of their journey. And that’s how 8foldGovernance was born.
We started this journey because we want to be a trusted partner for companies. We’re here to help navigate the complex world of NHS governance and compliance. With our team by your side, you’ll have a much better chance of succeeding and in the process, making a real difference to patient care.
If you’re a digital health innovator or health tech leader, we’d love to explore how we can support you to launch your technology into the NHS, scale within the UK health market, or secure further investment.
